Area of interest

Hi, I am Anna and I am a PhD student in Tourism Studies. With an educational background in hospitality and tourism, I have learnt from and worked in various tourism-related contexts in different parts of the world.

A summer job at a small hotel on the eastern side of Greenland, however, first sparked my interest in the implications of climate change on tourism. Since then, I have found it fascinating to examine how tourism stakeholders perceive the world, and how tourism or being a tourist comes into play when responding to climate change-related issues.

In my thesis, I broadly explore how existing knowledge of tourism and climate change is translated into climate action within a (coastal) destination context, focusing on how knowledge is produced, framed, and used, for example, within academia, policy, and news media.

As part of my studies, I am also involved in teaching activities within the Department, and enjoy exploring climate change and tourism related issues in different geographical contexts.
