Course objectives
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- explain the role of industrial design in the development of ergonomics within product design
- give an overview of human differences and similarities
- explain the importance of context for how people perceive relationships between objects
- use model drawing as a tool for depicting form
- apply expressive three-dimensional form
- discuss and design products in relation to humans
Content
The course includes:
- theory on the role of industrial design in the development of ergonomics within product design
- theory and exercises on human differences and similarities
- theory on different contexts and their significance for how people perceive relationships between objects
- model drawing
- theory and exercises for creating expressive three-dimensional form
practical exercises for designing products for humans
Entry requirements
At least 60 credits (ECTS) in Industrial Design or equivalent
