The public defence took place with panel of invited experts, with Professor Chunming Rong from the University of Stavanger, Norway, serving as the opponent. The examining committee consisted of Professor Andreas Jacobsson (Malmö University), Professor Mats Björkman (Mälardalen University), and Professor Lukasz Wisniewski (Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany). Sujash's research was supervised by Professor Mikael Gidlund and Professor Tingting Zhang from Mid Sweden University, along with Professor Gerhard P. Hancke Jr. from City University of Hong Kong.

Naskar’s dissertation addresses one of the most pressing challenges in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS): ensuring secure, efficient, and privacy-preserving communication within Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). His research introduces novel lightweight cryptographic protocols tailored for both centralized and decentralized VANET architectures, enabling real-time authentication and communication with minimal latency and computational overhead.

With this significant academic achievement, Dr. Sujash Naskar is now set to begin a new chapter in his career, joining Volvo to further contribute to innovations in intelligent mobility and automotive security.

Mid Sweden University congratulates Dr. Sujash Naskar on his accomplishment and wishes him continued success in his professional journey.
