The Åre Risk event is going on tour! The 2026 spring edition will be held in Östersund, from 21 to 23 April. The destination is different from previous years, but the concept remains the same. The theme for 2026 is ‘Between hope and despair – crisis as a driving force’. More information will follow.

James Kendra is a professor of public administration at the University of Delaware. He researches how individuals and organisations respond to crises, focusing on improvisation, infrastructure disruptions, and disaster recovery.

Susann Baez Ullberg is an associate professor of cultural anthropology at Uppsala University. Her research focuses on crises, disasters, and environmental change, with a particular emphasis on how societies remember, process, and relate to risks and uncertainty over time.
