With a background in additive manufacturing and materials science, Sarath Karumudi, has joined Mid Sweden University as a PhD student, focusing on process monitoring in metal additive manufacturing. He is one of Mid Sweden University’s jubilee PhD students, supported by the Knowledge Foundation.

Solange Magalhães, a postdoctoral researcher at the FSCN Research Centre, develops bio-based alternatives to petroleum-derived substances used in industrial water treatment. Her work is a key part of Mission 0 House, a project aiming to enable materials and products without greenhouse gas emissions.

In early December, the IMMERSE research team met at Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall to review project progress, share results, and plan upcoming work. The meeting brought together researchers from Sweden and Finland to deepen collaboration on future remote-operation technologies.
