I am a PhD student, originally from the United Kingdom. I studied for my Masters degree at Uppsala University, where I focus on Early Modern Northern Europe. My specific interests centred upon York Minster Library, its donators and the gift economy of York.

I am currently researching book donations to seventeenth century English cathedral libraries. My research reveals that the act of book donations helped to constitute and construct social, political and religious networks. Furthermore, it elevates the object of the book imbuing it with a form of agency. Therefore, books themselves hold a vital position in these social networks.
